Talks and Film Projections

Thomas Richards, Jessica Losilla Hébrail and Hyun Ju Baek, members of the Theatre No Theatre Teaching Ensemble hold conferences, together or individually. These Conferences are tailored for specific circumstances and audiences. Topics range from: analysing the work on ancient songs of tradition, analysing an actor’s work on physical actions, analysing other fundamental aspects of the actor’s craft and theatre creation, talks on Mr. Richards’ performing arts research, and the showing of film fragments – or full films – of past and present performative opuses directed by Mr. Richards. Conferences are normally accompanied by open discussion with the audience.
Collaborations with Universities, Theatre Schools and Cultural Institutions
Theatre No Theatre is developing collaborations with Universities and Theatre Schools around the globe, designing specific programs and/or projects aimed at giving students the opportunity of coming in contact with the approach to creation that Mr. Richards, apprentice of Jerzy Grotowski, has developed in over 35 years of theatre practice. Each project or program is created taking into consideration the institutions’ specific needs, including the course of study, curriculum and calendar.
Recently, Theatre No Theatre, has completed pedagogic projects at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de la Réunion, Saint Denis, (Réunion, France), Columbia College Chicago, Illinois (USA), Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan (USA), New Era University College in Kajang (Malaysia) Taipei National University of the Arts in Taipei (Taiwan), Seoul Institute of the Arts, Seoul (South Korea) and Nanjing University, Nanjing (China).
